|I was out Monday afternoon – the sun was shining and the wild flowers were blooming, I couldn’t resist taking more photos, I know, I know I have lots of flower photos, I just couldn’t resist. Then it rained and I had pretty bright yellow flowers to work with, yeah!!! I know that in the winter when it is cold and miserable I can dig out these different flower images and do some daydreaming about warmer days or warmer locations…………….I used a texture from Kim Klassen’s collection – the texture it was originally brown. I have found that I can completely change the color using the hue and saturation. Others may have known this, but for me it was new, and it makes each texture much more versatile. The website has lots of interesting ideas and tutorials for getting started if you want to learn more about using textures on your images.|
No I am not going anywhere just yet – but I love flying – and I love sunrise. Admittedly I don’t get to see the sunrise as much a I would like – because I lilke my warm snuggly bed. But I have been known to get up early, as I did here – one cold wintery morning (you can actually see sunrise at a reasonable hour in the winter) and sit just west of the airport. These turned about a little pinker than the origional sky color – not sure why.

One of my all time favorite silhouette pictures. While we were travelling in Greece, we spent part of a day wandering around Epidaurus. The acoustics and sound in the amphitheater is amazing. If you look closely there is a lady standing in the center of the circle, near center frame. She is telling a story, one of the great Greek myths, she is only using her normal speaking voice and we could hear her perfectly, as if she was sitting at our dinner table talking to us!
A painter paints pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence. ~Leopold Stokowski
Last February I was visiting in Yuma Arizona, one night there was a group of people sitting around a campfire, the musicians filled the hills with music! Watching this gentleman play, the steel picks on his fingers and listen to the crisp clean notes and lively music was joyous. It was a great evening.
It seems I like most people I know are busy, busy, busy! Too many things to do and not enough time to get them all done. This weekend I took time off, Saturday I went to Aiden’s firth birthday, and on Sunday Bill and I went down to the Calgary Farmer’s Market for breakfast and to pick up a few fresh groceries. While there we spotted two young girls playing their violin, The Calgary Farmer’s Market provides an opportunity for these two young girls to play, to practise playing in front of crowds and while doing so they raise money for Doctor’s without borders. Calgary is filled with great people who extend themselves for others, and I am lucky to meet so many of them.
The essential joy of being with horses is that it brings us in contact with the rare elements of grace, beauty, spirit, and fire. ~Sharon Ralls Lemon
Here is one more photo of Carly’s little Reno, I am almost done processing her images, this is just a taste of the photos in the short time spent with Carly and her friends! He is such a cute little colt, I am sure Carly will enjoy working with him as he grows up!

Aiden’s first birthday here getting a cuddle from his dad. Happy Birthday Aiden I hope you had a great day, your mom and dad did everything to make it special, and I was so thrilled to be part of your day.

Carly loves her pets, and her puppy Lily is no exception. A beautiful, energetic pet that is also a very good friend with the horses!
