In contrast to the snow and wintery conditions that is or will be surrounding many of us in the Northern Hemisphere very soon I thought I would bring you a lovely lotus flower image. An image I can contemplate and enjoy while we try to ignore the icy conditions outside!
A little information, and a quote I pick-up up off the web while preparing this blog post.
“A pristine waterlily undiscouraged by its surroundings, rises from the depths of a murky pond. It’s lotus petals perfume the air, as it flowers and blooms brilliantly, purely, divinely, despite and probably because of its origins. Becoming a spiritual person does not mean you to leave your prior life behind, but instead you integrate, learn, remember, and respect what brought you to this point in the first place.” Jacquelene Close Moore.
According to many sites the lotus flower is a symbol of enlightenment. Just as it rises out of the mud to become a beautiful flower we to can become better people. I hope you enjoy my offering today as an alternative to the snow outside!
