Jeff and JoAnna’s wedding day battle!

water fight on wedding day

Jeff and JoAnna’s wedding day battle

The title might have been a little misleading, but even a water fight is a little unexpected on the typical wedding day! They had fun, and my camera gear stayed dry, two very important points.  This had to have been the most fun I have had at a wedding in a very long time.

My wish for Jeff and JoAnna, may all their battles/fights be this much fun.

JoAnna and Jeff, a quiet time after the wedding

JoAnna and Jeff, enjoying a quiet moment after the wedding…..

Jeff and JoAnna enjoy a quiet moment after the wedding ceremony.  Earlier in the day it looked like it might rain, but the afternoon was beautiful and warm, a little breezy, but no mosquitos! It was a beautiful day for a wedding. The bridge is too high to actually dangle your feet in the water, but it is a nice place to sit. The kids were close by watching and waiting, you can see the shadows on the left.

JoAnna and Jeff, up the creek after the wedding!

JoAnna and Jeff, up the creek after the wedding, aug 3, 2012

Sorry I couldn’t resist the title…..

I was lucky to meet JoAnna through a mutual friend and fellow photographer.  JoAnna and Jeff were married on Aug 3, 2012 and they asked if I would photograph the wedding. I am grateful for the opportunity to meet their families, and to spend the day with them. I am hoping to get all the photos done this week.  I have to say this is one of my favourite photos.

Karen and Jon’s dreamy first dance, as they start life together!

Newly weds, new family……..for the wordpress weekly photo challenge: family.

I have been playing around with Karen and Jon’s wedding photos, and thought I would try something completely different.  I can’t decide if I like it or if it is completely hokey, if it is too busy, and the backgound is distracting, or adds to the “story”

I think I will have to look at it for a while, and I know that it really only matters what Karen and Jon have to say about it, I would like to hear from you as well. What do you think?

Karen and Jon – 5th anniversary of their first date!

In a wedding that truly reflected their personalities and their style Karen and Jon were married on the 5th anniversary of their first date! Karen and Jon were married at St. Patrick’s Church where Jon attends service regularly, and Karen worn her mothers wedding dress, just slightly altered.  And then there was the candy – jolly rancher candy, something they shared on their first date, and when Jon proposed to Karen he hid the ring in the candy for her to find!

I remember meeting Karen and Jon to talk about their wedding, and first hearing their story, and of these details. As they recounted them they would often look at each other and smile. These details have meaning for them, the memories and the feelings that go with these memories are part of their story, and bind them together.  May they continue to add detail, happy memories and stories like this to their life together, that is my wish for them.

Karen and Jon married September 16th,

After a week that threatened rain for their wedding Karen and Jon ended up with a beautiful sunny day for their wedding, now that I am home from holidays I am working on their photos. It was a joy to be a part of their day, and I am having fun all over again, so many great photos, so many great moments.  I am sure that for Karen, Jon and their families so many great memories. Here they stand looking over the Sirroco Golf Course, and the Foothills of Alberta, not long before they go to meet their guests at the reception.
