Andrea was so great to work with, natural candid portraits.  Here she was under a archway, with just a sliver of light across her face, she knew exactly how to work with the light. With a beautiful young lady comfortable in front of the camera, it was easy to get some great portraits. I decided I like the square format for this image.

I love doing portraits for friends, it gives us time to spend together to chat, and catch up on all the news, then a couple of days after they have gone home I get to send them a momento of the day! Michele looked lovely on Saturday. We drank a little bubbly, nibbled a little chocolate, it was a great visit. Thanks Michele, more of your photos will be ready soon!

Taleeta, at Studio 35

I belong to a photoclub in Airdrie, sponsored by Studio 35, Adam Kuzik is the photographer for the studio is doing lots of interesting things to promote  photography in the area. On Tuesday we had a “Shoot-Out”.  Taleeta is a young, up and coming model who needed some practise, so we set up the lights and took turns, each of the photographers having 15 mintues to work with her.  Adam was there to help Joanna Kemp did the make-up and it was a lot of fun. My friend was happy with his portaits!  One of the interesting things about doing portraits is the time I get to spend with each person, hearing the stories of their job, the places they have visited, and their interests. Listening to their stories really does make the time go by so fast, I often wish I could slow down the clock………….

I love working with young ladies, and creating portraits and while some would have cropped this image closer – i like the idea of the faces behind Ashley, kind of guardian angles watching down over her!

Ashley was one of the young ladies that helped us out last Sunday for the portrait workshop, I have many great images of Ashley – she was so easy to work with – this is more of an environmental portrait, using only natuaral light on the stairs!

Erin and Keri make me smile, and I want to thank them for helping us out on Sunday. They spent several hours posing for different photographers during a portrait workshop, and it would not have been as much fun without them!  They make getting great portraits easy.

I have been working of family pictures taken for Penny and Paul just before Christmas, but there has been some long days at work, and little time or energy for creative pleasures!  This photo is one that could speak to many people.  We all know that while Daddy is holding is little baby girl, she is wrapping his great big heart around her little finger!

Kaley was one of the models at the house on Suday for our model session, it was great fun, and we learned a lot about doing portraits on location.
