Bamberg Town Hall

The Old Town Hall was built in the 15th century, in the middle of the river.  Between the old town and the new town. Legend has it that the bishop of Bamberg would not grant the citizens any land for the construction, so the citizens built an artifical island by driving stakes into the Regnitz river, and creating a foundation for their town hall.

This town hall was later erected in 1749, there is a coat of arms on the west has the City Knight St. George looking towards the Cathedral, while on the east is teh coat of arms of the Prince Bishop Franz Konrad von Stadion.
