I received the annual stats report from wordpress, it should be no suprise that Donia’s photos were looked at more than any other image posted during 2014. I think that her adorable little face is worthy of a second look (if not divine worship) and a great final post for 2014. I like Donia explored my (many) environments, smiled at strangers, giggled, laughed and was surprised by my luck during 2014
we have been in transit for the last couple of day, moving from Paris to Malaga, we are tired from riding the rails, dragging our bags through train stations, eating fast food, and sleeping in small hotels rooms! But we are here now, ready to settle in for a month in one location, ready to celebrate all the gifts of 2014, and look forward into 2015.
We want to wish everyone all the very best in 2015, we hope that this is the year you make your dreams come true.
I spent a little time at the park with Baby D, and her family, it is a great way to start the day, I smile for days after a family portrait session. First it is all the giggles during the session, and then I smile again every time I open the digital files to process the images. It took a little while Baby D and I to connect and get that perfect look.
But it didn’t last long…..
I won’t take it personally that she found the grass more exciting then the photographer, I will just smile for the rest of the day!
P.S. the rest of the family is pretty cute as well!
Dawn, well known in the running community; she is an active runner, blogger, and contributor to Flickr. Not only does Dawn spend a great deal of time running and training for her triathlon she as a great volunteer for the Calgary Road Runners, and the Calgary Half Marathon. Dawn is also a proud Grandmother.
I wouldn’t normally comment on someone’s age, but Dawn has proudly announced her 59’s birthday and I have to say if I look that good at 59 I will shout it from the roof top as well!
I am proud to be counted among Dawn’s friends, and thrilled she gave me the opportunity to work with her on new portraits. Thanks Dawn, I hope 2014 is a wonderful year for you.

It is Monday I and could think of no better way to start the week than looking at this beautiful little smile. I think her mom, who you can’t see, is giving her a little tickle! I photographed little baby Miya a couple of weeks ago, and every time I see her smiling happy face I smile.
I thought I would bring a smile to you this wonderful winter morning.
I met Charles Fair through BNI, Rocky Mountain Thunder he was looking for Business Portraits to use on his website, as well as his LinkedIn etc. I packed up the studio and travelled to Charles’s office to do the business portraits, he has this great red/burgundy colored wall that looked wonderful, we also used another wall, you know the colour, average off white office wall color, I am glad Charles choose to use this one, it really does set the portrait apart from the normal.
Now a little about Charles…..
Charles Fair has been a lawyer for over twenty years, since 1992. He provides a range of legal services to individuals and business, representing clients who are in conflicts, or hoping to avoid conflicts, regarding business, family law, divorce, personal injury and estate matters.
Charles works closely with his clients to achieve the best resolution possible in each case. Building his mediation practise, he wants to help his clients find a solution appropriate for everyone involved and that builds relationships, in a timely and cost efficient way. Charles understands that sitting down together, with a structured plan, and to estabilish common ground and a goal to resolution, makes sense to everyone. Mediation is his first choice in resolving disputes, but not his only skill.
One of the best parts of being a photographer who specializes in Business Portraits is the interesting people I meet. Spending about 45 minutes in the studio or on location, the time goes by as I learn a little about each person. Most busy professionals are reluctant to take this kind of time out of their busy schedules for photos, but I have found that if we can spend a little time together, people start to relax and their personality shows through. It is hard to set that 2 x 3 image Linkedin image apart from all the others, but it is possible.
Thanks Charles for giving me this opportunity to work with you.
Erin and Ken were married a little more than 4 years ago, and just over a month ago they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl. I have been lucky enough to be there to share these, and many other special moments, with them.
I have been spending a little time this week going through the inventory of old photos, something I call it treasure hunting. Today I declare myself rich with treasures, memories and friends.
Winter is here, yet I am still working on family photos done earlier this year. Taken near the Ranche Restaurant in Fish Creek Park, the autumn colors and golden grasses don’t last long. There is a beautiful red building, that I think everyone uses as a backdrop for photos, but there is so many places to sit and pose families.
I want to thank Jen and her family for giving me the opportunity to spend this time with them, it was wonderful, the kids were so much fun.
I met Donia last weekend, just a little over three weeks old and sound asleep we are reminded how precious these little bundles are. Another little pumpkin in the pumpkin patch. I doubt that her parents will tell her that she was found in the cabbage patch or that the stork delivered her!
Donia is gorgeous, and a wonderful reason for owning a camera. Her mother, Erin had maternity photos taken about three weeks ago, and it was a great joy to met Donia in person. I am looking forward to watching her grow up.
A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bank balance smaller, home happier, clothes dirty, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for – unknown.
We first met Addilyn before Christmas, she is now about 5 months old, and has clearly made some major decisions about how she will live her life – afterall cheering for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders is usually a life long obsession. Okay maybe, just probably, she had some family influence, I think it was Grandma Carolynne that bought the jersey, and the socks seem to be a big hit.
Carolynne brought the whole family by a while ago for photos, so we will have more photos during the week, they are almost ready.
