Sangeeta helped us out with the lifestyle workshop and has been patiently waiting her images! I finally have them already and will be uploading them on the weekend. So Sangeeta, I beg your patience one more day and hope that you find the wait worth your time.
I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see. John Burroughs
Ann was one of the models helping us out at the photography workshop, here she sits patiently making notes while we are busy around her studying the light, and the back ground. Pretending that we, the photographers, are not buzzing around her trying to make sure everything is just right. I am with John Burroughs, the days are too short to do all that I want to do, see all I want to see, and read all that is interesting!
I met Hannah on Sunday Mar 18, 2012, a group of us were getting together to work on a photo project. Hannah was one of our models, she was creative and lively and willing try just about anything. Her dress was a great contrast to the background. We didn’t get much to talk but I have since learned that she doesn’t like getting up in the morning for class and finds riding the bus boring! Hannah I hope your Wednesday is a good one!

Sunday was a great spring day for a walk in Prince’s Island Park. We had an umbrella on hand just in case it decided to rain, and while it was a little windy, there was no rain. We decided to take the umbrella out of the bag to do a few photos anyway, it added that hit of color we needed. It won’t be long before the grass is green, and the flowers are blooming.
This photo taken in early spring is almost monochromatic except for the bright red umbrella. I think a good use of color to draw attention to the subject.

She’s a pretty girl; her eyes smile just like she does: softly and often,
haiku by Ociel Guadalupe.
While Taleeta was not smiling in this picture she did smile often and easily during our photo session, and the haiku by Ociel seemed appropriate. Poetry can be an inspiration for photography, or a photo can be an inspiration for a poem, either way there does seem to be a complementary aspect.

Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.
— Dr. Seuss
Keri helped us out on Sunday with our portrait workshop, one of the other photographers brought a couple of hats! It was a little big but it was a great prop! Of course the hat is enough to trigger thoughts of Dr. Suess, his books are not only full of great entertainment they are full of life lessons for kids of all ages. Best of all, they are fun to read out loud!
Beauty pleases the eyes only; Sweetness of disposition charms the soul ~Voltaire (1694-1778) ~
Angelica was a wonderful addition to our portrait workshop, sweet enough to charm any soul, easy to work with and well the beauty part needs no explaination. Thanks Angelica for helping us out. It was wonderful to see you again.
Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance. Carl Sandburg
When working with Fredau we wanted to create some great shadow images, she was wonderful and exagerating her movement, her shadow was like another model on set. It was a great excercise to experiment with light, movement and personality.
